Sept 2009 - Current
Web Development with ASP.NET and C#/VB.NET
SOE Software / Tampa, Florida
I am part of a development team that focuses exclusively on SOE Software's flagship software product "Election Night Results" (ENR) that is used by many county and state Supervisor of Elections offices across the U.S. Our system is capable of many different input variations due to the different election result files and configurations that our clients provide.
ENR was built entirely inhouse with a multi-layered architecture using ASP.NET 4.0, C# and with a mySQL server database for the back end election administration portion. The public facing reports are engineered entirely of HTML, CSS and Javascript for a rich UI that is highly configurable for the clients individual needs using a custom CMS. The reports are served using Amazon's ELB, backed by multiple EC2 instances, and finally distributed to LimeLight CDN edge servers due to the high profile aspects of the product and strict availability requirements.
A large enhancement that I was essential in was the improvement of public facing reports that included a high performance UI largely dependent on jQuery, High Chart graphing tools and Google Maps integration with multiple layers using KML and KJSON. While working closely with our design team and continual feedback from Arizona's Secretary of State office, a complete graphical redesign was also performed while keeping compatibility as high priority for all standard desktop and mobile browsers.
Other day to day development tasks have included various administration enhancements for new client compatibility and many product enhancements, utilities, web services and windows services to help our in-house administration team to support the product more efficiently. We also work closely with our QA team to resolve bugs which are tracked in OnTime agile software tracking system.
Our development team shares the responsibility of all product build deployments through a very strict internal process to all environments (Integ, QA, Staging and Production) for compiled binaries, web forms, and database scripts. We employ SCRUM methodology into our project management and have been able to meet or exceed development deliverables because of this agile method. Web Development with ASP.NET and C#
RDK Truck Sales / Tampa, Florida
I served as the lead .Net developer for a large project to design, develop, and implement a large custom CRM application that is used within the company and by its clients. The application supports call centers that handle heavy call volume dealing with commercial vehicle sales for international clients. Responsibilities included business process analysis, prototyping from requirements and conceptual design, hands-on development, testing and support of deployment activities. Managed relationships with 30 business stakeholders to formalize requirements and coordinate User Acceptance testing.
The application environment was built from the ground up using ASP.NET to develop the application server, and C# for a high performance UI that employs Ajax 4.0 technology to provide a rich functionality while maintaining high performance. The database server application was developed in MS SQL Server 2005 running on Windows 2003 Server. No vendor-based packages were integrated in this project as the application was entirely designed and developed in house entirely by myself. The corporate website can be viewed at rdk.com
Jan 2006 - Jun 2006
Web Development with ASP, ASP.NET & VB.NET
Geographic Solutions / Palm Harbor, Florida
I developed a web-based application that supports state unemployment agencies across the country while working for this major government contractor. It is written entirely in ASP 3.0 and is comprised of over 6400 Active Server Pages with a SQL database backend.
I worked on a team of 30 developers to provide a look and feel that resembles major job boards available on the internet, and added user intake wizards for many different government funds to assist the unemployed. This position provided me with a strong understanding of multi layered architecture which is something I have used consistently ever since. I was hired on to help rewrite part of the system into ASP.NET 2.0 while porting the SQL stored procedures. The corporate website can be viewed at geographicsolutions.com
Dec 2003 - Dec 2005
Web Development with ASP.NET & VB.NET
MPH Group/Powerchord / Tierra Verde, Florida
I worked on a team of 4 developers to create a web-based solution written entirely in ASP.NET and VB.NET with an MS SQL Server 2000 database backend. This application supports manufacturing clients providing them with a main portal that displays their catalog of products. The system also supports their network of associated dealers allowing them to link to the portal from their own websites with the ability to customize their view based on their own business requirements. Our firm charged a monthly fee for this access.
My main responsibilities included porting the current ASP.NET and SQL model into a real estate model allowing expansion into new business lines. I also provided day to day support to clients managing and resolving trouble tickets using an in house developed ASP.NET problem tracking system for several of the firm's key systems. I also worked on all website design elements, layouts and images for our many products. The corporate website can be viewes at powerchordsystem.com
Feb 2003 - Dec 2003
WinForms Development with Visual Basic 6
Sterling Star Corporation / Pinellas Park, Florida
I worked with a team of 3 developers to enhance and maintain this company's medical billing software suite. This largely involved design, development and maintenance of numerous Crystal Reports. I also developed a data conversion tool used by many of their clients. This gave me the opportunity to leverage my strong skills in data string analysis. This position allowed me to perform a lot of conceptualizing, modeling, developing, testing and debugging new modules. The corporate website can be viewed at sterlingstar.com
